MOPH 531 Quilts of Valor Honorees
Ten patriots from MOPH Chapter 531, northeast Georgia were honored with “Quilts of Valor” from the Quilts of Valor Foundation, Athens / Oconee Chapter on September 25, 2019 at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, Georgia. Patriot honorees (L-R) John Dowd, Don Harris, John Cranmer, L.T. Crawford, Mike Boyd, Tom Graham, Bowles Dean, Ed Fulghum, Jim Goff, and Jim Wood. The very patriotic and emotionally moving ceremony was conducted by QOVF Coordinator, Anne Flippen. The Clarke Central High School JROTC presented the quilts. Chilling bagpipe music was performed by Dan Wilson for this beautiful ceremony.

2019 Military Appreciation Game
The University of Georgia Athletic Association is honored to provide Veterans, Purple Heart recipients, and a guest with tickets to attend our Military Appreciation game on November 9th vs. Missouri for your service to The United States of America. Purple Heart recipients have given a lot to represent our country, and the UGA Athletic Association would like to take a moment during the game to recognize the attending Purple Heart recipients on-field. Chops and Hops Fundraiser
This will be the last reminder to the membership to come out and support the fundraiser at Chops & Hops in Watkinsville, GA on July 25th which is this coming Thursday. The address is 2 Main Street. In Town Center. Lots of parking in the rear. The restaurant is donating 10% of their profits for the entire day to Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 531 to support our efforts to support northeast Georgia veterans and their families. 100th Anniversary of WWI End
The 100th anniversary of the end of World War I was commemorated at the Oconee County Veterans’ Memorial in Watkinsville at 11:00 a.m., on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Sons of the American Revolution served as the color guard, a Scottish Bagpipe ensemble provided some of the patriotic music on a sunny, but chilly day. MOPH Chapter 531 Patriots Farris Johnson, John Dowd, Richard Olsen, and Brian West represented the chapter in the wreath laying ceremonies in memory of our fallen.
